The new Watchung Design Studio located on Route 22 West is actively seeking experienced Interior Designers!

As a vertically integrated manufacturer and retailer of home furnishings and accessories, we are the interior design destination for our clients and the Architecture and Design trade community. The ideal candidate for an Ethan Allen career is driven, works well in a team environment, and is equally passionate about design and sales. This role rewards those most who are inspired to operate their interior design business within our proven program!

Please note this position is full time, on site, and does require weekends.

General Objectives:

1. Work closely with clients in the design studio, remotely, online, and in-home to create personalized design solutions using Ethan Allen products and services.
2. Scope includes space planning, fabric coordination, product selection, and residential project design, focusing on developing individualized designs and achieving performance goals in a relationship-based selling environment.
3. Performance is measured based on teamwork, customer service, communication, decision-making, project development, presentation, and technical skills.
4. Develop community connections and market your services across multiple channels.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Create design solutions aligned with customer preferences and budgets.
2. Sell Ethan Allen's products and services.
3. Represent the brand professionally in all customer interactions, including greeting customers, establishing rapport, and conducting in-home consultations to close sales.
4. Utilize grassroots marketing and social media to grow the business.
5. Educate customers about Ethan Allen's free design services and various financing options.
6. Stay current on design and color trends to offer fashionable solutions.
7. Coordinate with the team to provide excellent service before and after sales, including order updates and delays.
8. Participate in corporate marketing and training programs.
9. Maintain a neat and organized design center.
10. Use technology effectively for project design, presentations, and customer service.
11. Enter orders via the retail POS system.
12. Collaborate with leadership to develop and monitor marketing and business plans.
13. Use digital tools like 3-D Room Planner, CRM, and social media to build relationships and projects.
14. Perform other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field with at least one year of experience, or five years in a related field.
2. Broad knowledge of interior design and sales techniques; luxury retail experience is a plus.
3. Proficiency with online sales and design tools.
4. Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
5. Understanding of social media and grassroots marketing; proven experience preferred.
6. Valid driver's license or alternative transportation means.
7. Intermediate skills in digital floor planning and 3D rendering; experience with visualization tools is a plus.
8. Willingness to learn new technologies.

Pay Transparency:

• Minimum annual recoverable draw of $54,400, paid biweekly.
• Incentive-based pay with earnings based on retail sales and project orders; unlimited earning potential.
• Average earnings: $101,286.88 (NJ, 2023).
