Marketing & Event Coordinator
to join our awesome team here at Fairlawn! The ideal candidate will be a creative self-starter radiating positivity who can adapt to the ever-changing marketing needs of a student portfolio and host impactful virtual and in-person resident events.
Based in Champaign, IL this team member will be accountable for creating and executing successful marketing and resident events to lease properties within our 1,600+ unit student portfolio on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
What will you do?
Exemplify the core values of Be Kind, Be Flexible, Own It, and Always ImproveCreate and/or execute integrated marketing campaigns including web, email, social media, digital, print, and displayOversee the production of campaign materials, including print, environmental, merchandise, and display contentManage vendor relationships, cost estimation, and procurement processesOversee all promotional events, from conception to execution. This includes planning, logistics, budget management, contract negotiations, and creating compelling marketing materials and prize packages to maximize attendance and impactLeverage marketing expertise to conduct property assessments, develop targeted marketing materials, and enhance brand visibility across all channels, including the website, prospect and resident communications, and on-site signageAdministrate Smile's community platform, Modern MessagePurchase items, stage, and maintain the model apartment(s)Design and post the apartment vacancy listings, including the creation of unique copy, updating photos and videos, and highlighting specialsAudit company website, Google listings, and third-party internet listing services for accuracy, identify additional marketing opportunities, and provide insights with competitor analysisLearn and comply with all Fair Housing Laws - (We provide training)Pivot, roll up your sleeves, and jump in where needed!Why should you work here?

Who you are - We'd love to hear from you if you:
Have 1 year of marketing experience (student housing or property management experience a plus)Have a bachelor's degree OR four years of marketing in real estate or property management (student housing preferred)Effectively utilizes Microsoft Office, Google, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tick Tock, mobile apps, and other software programs (Canva, Adobe, etc.) and social media to drive online marketing efforts.Must present your marketing portfolio during later-round interviewsDemonstrate superior attention to detail, high energy, and a positive attitudeHave an ability to give and receive real-time feedback with a positive mindsetHave excellent written and verbal communication skillsHave an ability to work independently and to work closely with other team membersEmbody our core values: Be Kind, Be Flexible, Own It, and Always ImproveSkilled at juggling multiple projects, working under deadlines with last minute editsSome additional things you will need:
A valid driver's license and dependable transportation. Limited in-town usage of personal vehicle for errands and out-of-county personal mileage reimbursed at the Federal rateAbility to work evenings & weekends for marketing events, as neededAvailability to work longer hours and weekends during department and company peak seasonsMust be able to perform the physical functions of the position, not limited to the ability to execute events, ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer, complete physical inspections, and deliver promotional and collateral material
