Design Studio DirectorFull time: 40 hours/week, salary commensurate with experience, benefit package available
East Tennessee Community Design Center (ETCDC) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to make East Tennessee a better place to live and work by bringing professional design and planning assistance to community groups and nonprofit organizations. This role, reporting to the ETCDC Executive Director, offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse group of professionals and community members. The Design Studio Director will oversee all aspects of ETCDC design projects, including interaction with clients, volunteer advisors, and directing production of the ETCDC Design Studio Staff. Communication skills and organizational aptitude to coordinate meetings with community members, business owners, and public officials are essential. As the Design Studio Director, overall project coordination is important and includes:
Direct client interaction
Scheduling of projects
Producing and maintaining hourly budgets
Coordinating volunteers and clients
Producing visual documents for presentation
Computer graphics ability
Assisting in grant writing
Assisting committees with events
Working with the website consultants
Being an all-around team player
Education & Experience Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, interior design, engineering construction management, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in design, construction or related profession.
