The Puerto Rican Arts Alliance (PRAA) is a Chicago-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving and promoting Puerto Rican arts, culture, and heritage. Through music and arts education, cultural events, and community engagement, PRAA connects Puerto Rico with its diaspora and fosters meaningful cultural experiences.
PRAA seeks a creative and detail-oriented
Marketing Intern
to support its marketing efforts during the summer and fall seasons. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to event promotion, content creation, and audience engagement across PRAA's multiple outreach channels. The intern will gain real-world nonprofit marketing experience while helping to expand PRAA's community impact.

Work Location:
This is primarily an in-person internship with responsibilities at PRAA's main campus (3000 N Elbridge, Chicago, IL)
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planning and scheduling content across PRAA's social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn). Create and edit marketing materials such as flyers, email blasts, and digital content. Support promotions for key events like Noche Caribeña, Baila Conmigo, the National Cuatro Festival, and the National Coquito Festival. Track social media growth, and able to attend weekly team meetings. Support onsite event marketing through photo/video capture and live social updates. Collaborate on brainstorming new strategies to engage diverse and younger audiences. Support outreach (some phone calls and emails) to families and registered students as needed. Requirements:
Education: Currently enrolled at DeVry University. Availability: ~10-25 hours/week; flexibility for evenings and weekends during PRAA events. 2 or 3 days in the office between business hours 9am to 5pm is preferred. Days can be negotiated. Marketing Team meetings are on Wednesdays at 10am. Transportation: Ability to travel to PRAA sites or partner locations as needed. Technical Skills: Comfortable using social tools and Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn. QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be an enrolled student at DeVry University. High School diploma or equivalent. Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester. FWS fund eligible. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Self-directed, motivated individuals. People who sit around, waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment. Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field. Familiarity with social media platforms and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express, Microsoft). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; interest in Puerto Rican culture is a plus. Creative, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable working independently and in a collaborative environment.
