JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARYESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
An Engineer V serves as a principal investigator and individual contributor to contract research, development, integration, and sustainment projects.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design requirements and problemsConduct investigations of considerable complexityProvide technical consultation to other organizations or customersDirect interface with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final designAct as liaison for test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specificationsPlan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects requiring the expert application of advanced knowledgeReview completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommend corrections in technical application and analysis to managementRepresent the company as technical advisor in high-level meetings and briefings with company and customer personnelPrepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studiesSupport development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of workAct as a company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problemsMaintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operationsConduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendationsDevelop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and proceduresPerform other job-related duties, as requiredThe ideal candidate will:
Interact with customers to identify requirements and constraints in the early phases of test planning.Develop a strategy to efficiently collect aerodynamic performance data and build fast performance models used in flight test profile design for a wide array of operational and experimental aircraft.Use aircraft and sensor characteristics to calculate appropriate flight test profile constraints.Design specialized flight test profiles satisfying various requirements and constraints to collect data of sufficient quality and quantity to meet testing and operational planning requirements.Position flight test profiles for safe, effective, and efficient mission flow.Determine appropriate dive recovery regions for diving profiles, find the highest terrain in each region, specify recover-no-later-than conditions, and calculate time safety margins for safe dive recovery.Build flight cards containing flight test profile instructions and safety constraints necessary for pilots and control room personnel to safely and efficiently execute the mission.Review and rehearse flight profiles with pilots and other test team members to validate flight profile predictions and to ensure smooth mission conduct on the first mission.Give mission pre-briefs to ensure all test team members understand their roles and responsibilities.Serve as a ground-based or airborne, day or night test conductor exercising close control of aircraft flying dynamic profiles sometimes rapidly approaching altitude, airspeed, and Mach safety limits.Make quick decisions during test missions, direct real-time aircraft corrections, and coordinate rapidly with test team members to adjust the mission flow as necessary to meet mission data collection goals.Conduct thorough mission debriefs to ensure all relevant mission events are understood and to identify lessons learned to be applied to future missions.Assist in data analysis and review as required to facilitate correct interpretation of the mission data.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Will be asked to make functional the initiatives established by management and will coordinate with other organizations as affected by upgrades, capabilities, policy and procedures. DESIRED REQUIERMENTS
Have an accredited Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 8 years of related experience, or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering and 6 years of related experience, or have an accredited Doctoral Degree in Engineering and 4 years of related experience.Be able to apply a broad array of engineering disciplines and have a working knowledge of computer-based engineering tools.Excellent communication, organization, analytical, and leadership skills.Excellent attention to detail, and ability to maintain constant mental alertness for long periods, day or night.Required to qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state driver's license.REQUIERMENTSEDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum of 8 years of related engineering experience are required for this position.
In addition, an Engineer V must possess the following qualifications:
Well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the companyDemonstrated ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processesWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering toolsSuperior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposalsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlinesSALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $103,667.20 to $159,885.44 annually.

JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
