Job Overview:

The Teacher Mariachi Director High School will instruct the guitar classes as well as plan and implement an instructional program for the campus beginner, intermediate, and advanced mariachi ensembles. The incumbent will coordinate, supervise, and manage all aspects of the campus guitar classes and mariachi program. The incumbent will fulfill professional responsibilities related to teaching high school guitar courses and managing the instructional program.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Music Education or Music Performance
2. Master's Degree preferred
3. Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment EC-12 Music
4. Minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience preferred
5. Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to use social media effectively
6. Demonstrated proficiency in guitar
7. Pedagogical knowledge to instruct all of the instruments of the mariachi ensemble
8. Ability to interact appropriately with the public, District staff, and parents
9. Ability to collaborate with colleagues on the campus and in the instructional feeder pattern
10. Ability to market the instructional program
