Job Description
The campaign for animal rights is an ever-evolving effort, utilizing new technology to raise awareness. For example, PETA's "I, Chicken" exhibit uses virtual reality to show students the conditions of chickens on factory farms, and their drone program employs cutting-edge technology to promote animal rights. The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer interested in science and technology, capable of researching technical and non-technical subjects.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Brainstorm innovative uses of technology like the "I, Chicken" exhibit and drone program to advance animal rights
- Write creative and technical content for internal and external audiences
- Represent PETA at tradeshows
- Research trends and developments in science and technology
- Advocate for PETA's interests publicly
- Expand and develop existing creative projects
- Collaborate across departments on new project logistics
Qualifications
- At least one year of project management, research, or creative experience
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
- Interest in science and technology
- Outgoing personality with effective communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle
- Willingness to travel extensively
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Support for PETA's philosophy and advocacy skills
