Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. These stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for FOX Network’s content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 35 Orlando is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and experienced journalist to anchor our weekend morning "Good Day Orlando" newscast. The anchor/reporter will develop investigative content during the week, fill in for other anchors as needed, and collaborate with news managers and producers to plan and execute weekend newscasts.
We are looking for a proactive individual with a proven track record of digging deep, asking tough questions, and producing compelling content for our broadcasts and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a leading figure in the market, inspiring colleagues and viewers alike.
You will join a team of highly experienced journalists who are professional, polished, and confident community leaders.
- Read news stories and reporter intros from a teleprompter.
- Engage with team members and guests, both scripted and unscripted.
- Create content and engage on social media platforms.
- Stay informed on local, national, and international news and issues.
- Report and produce packages both in-studio and in the field.
- Write and edit news copy for broadcast and online.
- Organize material, determine emphasis, and write fair, accurate stories.
- Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research.
- Meet all deadlines for scheduling and broadcasting.
- Review newscasts to ensure objectives are met.
- Contribute story ideas regularly and long-term.
- Act as a station ambassador to foster goodwill.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding news content.
- Assist with newscasts during severe weather or breaking news outside normal hours.
- Responsible for station equipment issued to the employee.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Comply with all station computer and policy requirements.

Physical Requirements:
Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color vision, and focus adjustment.
Qualifications: At least three years’ experience as a reporter and/or anchor in a medium or large market preferred.
Education: College degree in communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
Good judgment, knowledge of fair journalism practices, storytelling ability, strong writing skills, and knowledge of current events are essential. Must be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with newsroom technology is required.

Pay range: $90,000 - $101,854 annually, dependent on education, skills, and experience. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and other benefits according to plan documents. Union employees’ benefits are governed by collective bargaining agreements.
