Position Summary The assistant editor of the Adventist Review/Adventist World works under the direction of an associate editor, handling various tasks related to preparing the print and online issues of the Adventist Review . This role is primarily based in-house with less travel compared to an associate editor but carries significant responsibilities and requires availability for public speaking or serving as a resource person. The influence extends beyond just the publication of the Adventist Review . Compensation Full-time exempt position with benefits Remuneration Range: 83-104% of $81k - $97k annually Benefits Salary employees receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Essential Job Functions Solicit and review manuscripts for magazine inclusion. Edit magazine content, including stories and columns. Oversee social media and website management. Assist with video/media production tasks. Write one editorial or column per month, plus features. Handle speaking engagements and external appointments. Plan and manage special issues and projects. Maintain regular work schedule and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience Delegated authority from the Editor/Associate Editor. Assist in administrative activities aligning with church policies. Responsible for designated areas of the Adventist Review . Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Extensive knowledge of the principles and beliefs of the Church and its structure. Strong human relations skills and English language proficiency. Good judgment, organizational skills, decision-making under pressure, editorial skills, teamwork, and public speaking ability. Additional Details Entry level, full-time employment in the fields of marketing, public relations, and editing within religious institutions.
