Job Responsibilities
The Multimedia/Video Specialist coordinates creative and branding activities across video, web, print, and social media for the SC Technical College System and its statewide programs. Provides innovative and creative strategies in support of the SC Technical College System's brand as well as the brands of its statewide workforce programs - readySC™, Apprenticeship Carolina™, and Ezone™, including video production, photography, motion graphics, and animation. Supports pre-production, production, and post-production of video projects, ranging from short social media promos to longer-format orientation and training videos. Performs custom and specialized videography in-house or on location using a variety of video cameras and other equipment; determines file type, camera setting, lighting requirements, and other specifications to ensure quality shooting. Performs post-production activities, including scene selection, video editing, graphics, special effects, music selection, and media conversion. Prepares media for distribution on the web, social media, TV, radio, and other platforms. Plans, designs, illustrates and produces visually appealing marketing components for the System, Apprenticeship Carolina, and readySC using motion graphics and animation. Represents the Communications division at assigned meetings and events and acts as a liaison between communications and other divisions, colleges, governmental agencies, and organizations.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent Experience designing and producing digital motion graphics, promotional and testimonial videos, social media videos, and website graphics, with a strong portfolio of work. Ability to blend attractive design and high functionality in all projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Dedicated team player with a positive outlook and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in graphic design, media arts, or similar discipline.
Additional Comments• The position may require travel, out-of-town lodging, and occasional weekend and after-hours work.• International travel may also be required for certain projects.• Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport.• Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
