Overview
Join an agile, highly motivated team of engineers responsible for developing and implementing emerging autonomous technology for ground combat vehicles. This role supports the development of advanced autonomous capabilities across mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational planning & execution. The team utilizes Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Based Systems Engineering to turn concepts into reality.

Work Environment

Responsibilities
- Lead software design and development for capabilities like UI/UX, embedded training, support services/APIs; provide team direction, technology roadmaps, mentorship
- Manage 5-10 direct reports, including tasking, performance, evaluation, hiring
- Plan and execute IPT scope, budget, schedule, technical work, and technology transfer
- Develop system/subsystem requirements, verify compliance, coordinate cross-domain scope, review program CDRLs
- Identify and assess autonomous vehicle technologies, conduct user jury events, produce technical documentation
- Model vehicle functions, including automation and user interfaces
- Research emerging UI/UX techniques, work with vendors to integrate system functionalities
- Translate requirements into validation/test procedures, generate documentation and code for production transfer
- Lead design reviews, participate in demonstrations, peer reviews, and defect assessments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware/software interfaces, system performance, and design
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's in engineering, CS, or related field
- 10+ years related experience, 15+ preferred
- People leadership experience a plus
- Proficiency in C/C++, Unity3D, Unreal, Qt, Linux (Ubuntu)
- Experience with networking protocols (CAN, TCP, UDP, DDS, JAUS, IOP)
- Strong understanding of software architectures, design patterns, systems engineering, and system modeling (Cameo or similar)
- Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a team, multi-task, and work flexible hours
- Eligibility for US security clearance (non-US citizens may not qualify)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with defense processes, military vehicle architecture, development, and integration
Additional Info
This position may require physical ability to work around military vehicles and pass ASR tests. Travel may be minimal but necessary.
