Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled AV Programmer to join our team and take charge of designing, programming, and integrating audiovisual (AV) control systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AV automation, control systems, and networking, with experience in programming platforms such as Crestron, AMX, Extron, Q-SYS, or similar. The AV Programmer will work closely with engineers, technicians, and clients to deliver customized, high-quality AV solutions for corporate, educational, hospitality, and entertainment environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming & Configuration: Develop and deploy control system programming for AV equipment, including touch panels, lighting, audio, and video distribution.
- System Integration: Work with AV hardware and software components to ensure seamless communication and automation.
- Troubleshooting & Debugging: Identify and resolve technical issues with AV control systems and networked devices.
- Client & Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to customize solutions based on specific needs.
- Documentation & Training: Create system documentation, including user guides and training materials, and provide training to end-users.
- Upgrades & Maintenance: Support ongoing system updates, patches, and optimizations to improve AV system performance.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in AV control system programming (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron, Q-SYS).
- Experience with AV-over-IP, Dante audio, and networked AV solutions.
- Familiarity with DSP programming (e.g., Biamp, BSS, QSC, Q-SYS).
- Understanding of video conferencing platforms (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex).
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- 2+ years of experience in AV programming or system integration.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Certifications & Programming Expertise:
- Q-SYS Programming
- Crestron Certified Programmer
- AMX ACE
- Extron Certified
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of IT networking and security principles.
- Experience with cloud-based AV solutions and remote monitoring tools.
