Senior Children’s Designer - Newborn, Infant and Toddler – Character License - $120K
Our company, a leading wholesale apparel company with over 25 years of experience in the childrenswear industry, is seeking a talented Senior Designer to join ourteam. Product categories include Newborn, Infant and Toddler apparel, gifts and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and working knowledge in designing for licensed characters, a deep understanding of the latest trends, and a passion for creating innovative and eye-catching designs. Experience designing for both boys and girls is a plus.You will be responsible for leading the design process and working closely with our team of talented merchandisers, sales associates, and directly with retailers. Responsibilities: Provide overall designs and presentation boards for children's Newborn, Infant,and Toddler product lines Shop the market to research and identify current trends and present competitive data as it is related to their prospective area of responsibility to establish key objectives for the brand Maintaining seasonal design catalogs, ensuring all product information is accurate and up to date Present concept and vision in licensor and sales meetings Strong understanding of garment construction techniques and fabric properties Provide color and reference samples to support the design process Ability to create graphics and prints as well as working from style guides Contribute to the brand's research initiatives, helping to shape the complete landscape of brand development Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar Undertake special projects as assigned, aligned with the brand's strategic goals Create sketches of cad styles for style development as needed Collaborate closely with the technical design team to create, update, and prepare technical packs for sampling Track and update the design sample schedule, ensuring all deadlines are met Required Skills/Abilities/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design Previous experience in a similar role within the fashion industry, preferably in children's wear. Ability to travel as needed Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to details Brand appropriate aesthetic Consistent in-office presence is vital to the role as it is for all of our team members. We are a Friendly and collaborative work environment, centrally located office with easy access to public transportation.
