Bureau Detroit is a leading lifestyle and hospitality content agency. We seek an experienced social media and PR professional to lead our team from our Eastern Market studio. The perfect candidate has 3-5 years of experience working in hospitality and/or lifestyle social media marketing.This person will manage the strategy and execution for all client and internal agency channels, email newsletters, and blogs. Duties will include cultivating content strategies, managing social media communities, establishing media lists, pitching stories to the media, story mining with clients, and developing marketing communication plans to increase brand awareness while maintaining a favorable public image of each brand and drawing in more clients/customers/users. This position will work directly under the CEO and maintain close relationships with each client.To thrive in this role, you should be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and writing skills. Proven work experience in social media management/PR for businesses and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing is necessary.Candidates MUST live in metro Detroit. Out-of-state applicants will be rejected.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day social media strategy and activities for multiple businesses.Generate content calendars for each client.Prepare schedule and post approved content for multiple social networks.Generate compelling captions that effectively reach target markets.Understand each client, their brand voice, and the target audience they are trying to reach.Perform social media audits and send weekly/monthly reports to clients.Understand and interpret social media data.Understand and analyze social media ad campaigns.Correspond daily with the content production team, regularly sharing feedback and insights. This requires impeccable communication skills over email and replies in a short amount of time.Attend virtual and in-person meetings with clients to understand their needs.Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of Social Media programs. Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results.Oversee and curate social design (i.e., Facebook Timeline cover, profile pic, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, X profile, and blog).Create and manage promotions and social ad campaigns.Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales. Responding to comments promptly.Plan, develop, and execute media communication strategies and influencer marketing programs per brand objectives.Communicate outcomes and results of media relations initiatives to brand leadership.Prepare and write press releases and coordinate media materials for distribution to local, regional, and national media.Other duties as designed.SkillsThe eagerness and drive to stay ahead of every other content agency in the market.Highly organized and prepared.Excellent communication skills, i.e., written and verbal.Ability to interact effectively and respectfully with many different types of personalities.Digitally savvy and interested in the digital marketing industry and technologies.Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects effectively—excellent planning, project management, and organizational skills.Proficiency with Facebook, X, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, TikTok, and email marketing.Maintain a deep understanding of client business goals and marketing objectives, translating them into digital objectives/strategies.Understanding social media advertisements on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.RequirementsSocial Media and PR experience for hospitality and/or lifestyle businessesFamiliarity with local media entities and social media platforms.Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR, or a related field.Knowledge of metro Detroit and surrounding areas.Proficient and active on social media platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.Basic graphic design work and familiarity with Adobe Suite (primarily Photoshop) and Canva.Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and creating digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate.Enjoys working in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment.Must have reliable transportation, Internet, computer, and mobile phone access.Adherence to tight deadlines.Extremely detail-oriented, with precise and proven organizational skills.Demonstrate genuine curiosity and interest in our clients and their business.Competitive Salary commensurate upon experience.Paid holidays and vacation time.Health benefits after 90 days.
