Your Role
Junior CAD Drafter
Accountable for providing CAD drawings and files based on company and customer standards. Proactively maintain and update drawings and other design documentation. This includes but is not limited to drawings used to enable the accurate manufacturing of products, jigs, and templates, as well as files required for the operation of CNC/manual machines and/or hand work. Manage multiple CAD projects while also communicating directly with internal and external customers
What You'll Be Doing
Focus on CAD to Support Internal and External customersProvide CAD support for sales, manufacturing, and the operation of specific equipment. Water jet, die press, band saw, other equipment as neededInterpret written instructions, specifications and other inputs to translate requirements into accurate CAD solutionsUpdate or recreate existing CAD designs and files as neededMaintain applicable filesProvide CAD files to vendors to ensure designs are interpreted clearly and accurately.Interact with production, and quality teams, to assist with the creation of first article inspection forms and documentsSet up jobs in a manner that allows for safe manufacturing and optimal material yield
Create CAD Files From Customer Provided SamplesAccurately review and document customer provided samples for the purpose of creating all CAD related filesLoad CAD Files on Water jets
General FunctionsManage multiple projects concurrently, as neededIndependently prioritize projects to ensure on time deliverables
What We'd Like to See from You
RequiredProficiency using AutoDesk's AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks, and Flow software suiteAble to use a computer and software applications such as, but not limited to, MS Office Suite and CAD softwareAble to provide all CAD related activities specific to company and customer requirementsDemonstrate attention to detail, be deadline-driven, with the goal of continuous improvement in skills and abilitiesGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to use various measuring tools and measure accuratelyCommunicate clearly with stakeholders, i.e., Customers, Corporate Staff, Sales, Operations, and Customer Service
Highly DesiredAssociate degree in Drafting and DesignBasic understanding of standard drawing and document development processesAble to program Fanuc Robotics Trim arms, major plusExperience with water jets and diesExperience providing CAD support for protective packagingUnderstand first article inspection process
