Overview
In this role, you will collaborate with various departments to design and produce marketing materials, manage the library's social media presence to analyze and leverage marketing data that will drive the Library's mission, vision, and core values, be responsible for the productivity of marketing plans, and participate in community outreach activities.
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Hours per Week: 25
Hourly Rate: $18.00
Key Responsibilities:
Develops and manages marketing and communication strategies to serve the Library's mission and programs
Maintains brand consistency and ensures that all marketing materials adhere to brand guidelines
Coordinates with staff to develop appropriate print and digital promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters flyers, e-mail campaigns, signs, posters, etc.
Generates press releases, talking points, social media posts, video scripts, presentations, and other stakeholder communications
Collaborates with website manager to ensure content is accurate, updated, and consistent with branding
Creates and administers surveys to gather information on Library materials and services
Oversees online communities and manages the library's social media accounts
Plans the Library's social media strategy, creating content and campaigns that drive engagement and increase followers
Analyzes marketing data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and identify areas for improvement
Collaborates with colleagues to create multifaceted marketing strategies, such as digital, print, and word-of-mouth, to promote library services and special events
Responds to patron complaints or concerns as directed by the Library Director or Assistant Library Director
Determines quantity and distribution of all print promotional materials, optimizing their effectiveness
Ensures digital or archival files of marketing materials are preserved
Participates in frequent community outreach activities to enhance the library's presence and engage with the community (Must be able to work weekends and evenings.)
Develops and stewards partnerships
Meets with community leaders and makes presentations about library initiatives

Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or some college completed
Proven experience in marketing, preferably in a library or educational setting
Proficient in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace
Experience managing social media platforms and executing social media campaigns
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
Prioritize and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
Passion for libraries and promoting literacy and education
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of SEO principles and content marketing strategies is a plus
