United States, UtahAvalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., seeks an Associate Designer to join the Hogwarts Legacy team on their next project.The DailyWorks with the Lead Designer and other design teams to understand, iterate and prototype large gameplay systemsWorks closely with Engineering teams to understand available tools, structures and already existent systems to prototype as efficiently and efficiently as possibleCollaborate closely with the design team to understand gameplay objectives and translate them into technical solutionsPresent design ideas, receive feedback, then adjust designs and metrics accordinglyOwn, drive and implement subsystems which contribute to larger gameplayDesign and implement tools to allow other designers to quickly playtest gameplay scenariosManage gameplay dataWork in Miro, Confluence and other design communication toolsOther duties may be assignedThe EssentialsA passion for gaming and game developmentUndergraduate degree (in Game Design or Computer Science) or equivalent industry experienceExperience with Unreal 4/5 (UE4/5)Excellent understanding of UE5’s BlueprintsAt least basic understanding of C++/Software development structuresAbility to prototype efficiently in a fast-paced developement environmentAbility to work in large international teamsRemain current on console games and a knowledge of game mechanics across a variety of genres and platformsProficient at giving and receiving feedbackHighly motivated self-starter and creative thinker with fresh ideasExcellent written and verbal communication skillsNice to HaveExperience with SQLPreviously released game titlesExperience with Figma & UX DesignHow We Get Things Done…This last bit is probably the most important!
