About The Position
Hawaiʻi Preparatory Academy is seeking a dedicated Upper School Library Manager and Learning Support Instructor to create a welcoming and resource-rich environment that supports student learning and academic growth. This position oversees the daily operations of the Dyer Library, ensuring students and faculty have access to research materials, academic resources, and a collaborative space for study. This role includes providing direct academic support to students, helping them develop research, study, and critical thinking skills. In collaboration with faculty and staff, this position enhances learning experiences by offering valuable library resources and support.
About The Position

In addition to managing library services, this position plays a key role in creating an environment that fosters curiosity, academic excellence, and a love for lifelong learning within the Dyer Library space. The ideal candidate is highly organized, student-focused, and passionate about education. Responsibilities include assisting with standardized testing administration, maintaining a structured and supportive library environment, and participating in school-wide activities. - Oversee daily operations of the Dyer Library, including managing the budget, maintaining collections, and supervising spaces.
- Collaborate with faculty to support research, information literacy, and resource development across the school.
- Provide learning support and individualized instruction to students with documented learning needs.
- Assist with standardized testing administration and maintain scheduling systems for testing support.
- Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) and library website for student and faculty research.
- Co-teach and collaborate with educators to establish and achieve learning objectives.
- Supervise student activities and support Upper School events and special programs.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Library Science, or a related field.
- Five years of teaching experience, preferably in high school or community college settings.
- At least one year of experience working in a high school or community college library environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to assist students in selecting appropriate materials for academic and personal growth.
- Experience with library management systems and digital resource platforms.
- Experience working with students with documented learning needs.
- Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instructional strategies.
Academic Year: 2025-2026
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM (Schedule may adjust based on school or program needs)
Starting Annual Salary: $52,000
