POSITION SUMMARY : The intern will work in Editorial for a minimum of 160 hours over a fourteen-week period. The intern will assist editors by checking and reading page proofs of BJU Press products, marking errors and inconsistencies for the editors to review. The intern will improve his or her editorial knowledge and accuracy by studying The Chicago Manual of Style, BJU Press house style and publishing standards, and a variety of editorial books. The intern will then apply this knowledge as he or she practices editing a variety of texts. This is a paid internship.

Proofread BJU Press productsRead and discuss assigned book(s) that focus on the editorial processObserve editors working in a variety of projects in various stages of the editing processPractice editing various stages of project workComplete all assignments related to BJU Internship courseREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Enrolled as a student at Bob Jones UniversityHave acceptable performance on the BJU Press Editorial testEnrolled in the Internship course at Bob Jones UniversityHave working knowledge of English grammar and mechanicsAble to communicate well, both verbally and in writingWilling to become familiar with The Chicago Manual of Style and BJU Press house styleAble to follow directions well
