Job Summary
WRA Architects is seeking a Junior Technical Writer to support our Business Development Team in preparing responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), primarily for public education clients. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with the development of proposal content, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Essential Functions
- Assist in editing proposal content for RFQs, ensuring clarity and alignment with client requirements
- Create new content from technical information provided by architects
- Support editing and adapting content to suit each RFQ’s target audience
- Assemble RFQ materials, including written content, graphics, and supporting documentation
- Format and design proposals using branded templates and Adobe Creative Suite tools
- Capture, organize, and store approved content and visual elements for efficient reuse
- Visualize and create graphic elements; collaborate with designers for feedback and refinement
- Help to coordinate with internal departments to gather accurate project data and firm qualifications
- Provide customer service support related to proposal coordination and inquiries
- Assist in tracking proposal deadlines and manage submission timelines
- Maintain proposal templates, content libraries, and documentation
- Work onsite five days a week to support hands-on coordination and production needs
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders across departments to gather input and ensure alignment
- Collect, prioritize, and synthesize content from multiple contributors into cohesive, high-quality proposal documents
- Use and adapt templates to suit diverse audiences while maintaining consistent branding and visual identity
- Apply company branding elements and ensure a polished, professional appearance in all proposal materials
- Bachelors (with 0-2 years of experience) or Associate’s degree (with 3-4 years of experience) in English, Journalism, or Communication or another related field of study required
- Strong attention to detail
- Skilled in writing, developing, and editing content tailored to specific audiences (creative writing exp not applicable)
- Experience assembling RFQ materials
- Previous experience working in architecture environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to produce proposals, company brochures, qualifications presentations, or similar marketing materials
- Proven track record in planning, scheduling, and coordinating self and others to deliver accurate, on-time graphic deliverables
- Experience and solid understanding in Adobe InDesign required - Acrobat, MS Excel, MS Word a plus and ability to pick up other databases quickly.
- Comfortable working in open concept team environment required
- Valid US drivers license required
- Ability to work in office 5 days a week required
