The Digital Media Specialist develops and implements strategic content plans across all digital platforms to support the Zoo's marketing, revenue, and engagement goals. This role acts as the internal expert on digital trends, social analytics, and content performance, helping shape and elevate the Zoo's voice in the online space. The Specialist collaborates with departments across the organization, leads influencer and partnership campaigns, and leads digital media interns with a focus on developing a robust and innovative digital presence.

Experience Required : Two (2) years in digital/social media marketing.

Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties: Serve as a digital advisor to internal departments to ensure messaging aligns with brand standards and digital strategy. Produce and manage content for the Zoo's digital marketing efforts, including Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Production of photography and videography, creating social media content quickly - surrounding the OKC Zoo's activities and activations. Post content based on the standard cadence for the OKC Zoo across all platforms and provide timely response to consumer questions and complaints. Administer monthly content calendar for all platforms 2-4 weeks in advance to better align resources to produce ideal content. Curates the marketing content (photos, videos, text) of the OKCZoo.org website (+850k visitors annually) to ensure freshness, accuracy and intuitive flow. Social media content and campaigns are measured in part by traffic to the website for more information and the purchase of tickets and memberships. Lead digital media internship program including promoting it to external audiences, supervising the application process, coordinating interviews and selecting a candidate. Lead efforts of Digital Media Intern including schedule, assignments, tracking college credit and providing feedback in a timely manner. Responsible for co-developing and executing recommended plans to increase impressions and engagement on all platforms. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize campaigns and report trends to leadership Supports the strategy and execution of influencer and partner campaigns from pitch to recap to increase awareness/views, social engagement and follows and ultimately ticket/membership sales. Analyze and report on partnership performance, incorporating KPIs such as engagement, reach, and conversion impact. Collaborate with the Public Relations Specialist to ensure digital content supports broader media and communication efforts; assist in adapting press releases or announcements into engaging content tailored for social media and blog audiences when needed. Conduct platform audits and competitive benchmarking to inform content innovation Ensure brand consistency and compliance across all digital media efforts Recommend tools, trends, and best practices for improving digital engagement Assist with media escorts on grounds when needed. Advise employees on appropriate posting of content taken at the OKC Zoo. Perform other duties as assigned.
