Oversee 60-minute newscasts.Responsible for story selection and editorial content.Lead and work with national assignment editors, reporters, writers, and producers while making editorial and content decisions in accordance with department guidelines and standards.Effectively communicate with field reporters, editors, and talent.Respond aggressively to breaking news.Use all production elements accurately and creatively.Exercise strong national news judgment.Make quick decisions, and clearly communicate in the control room.Basic Qualifications
At least 3 years of news management experience and 3 years of line producing experience with a proven track record.Familiar with AR/VR production.Additional Qualifications
Related college degree and/or equivalent preferred.Outstanding storyteller.The personal and professional maturity to direct and manage a staff of experienced reporters, writers, and editors.Excellent writing and production skills.Adept at responding to breaking news, both strategically and in the control room.Eagerness to incorporate new media strategies and technologies.Desire and ability to innovate.Physical Demands
Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and operate a keyboard.A detailed physical description is on file.Additional Information
Hiring Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00.The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program, and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
