The Medical/Scientific Communications, Vice President has global responsibility for refining and driving the medical/scientific communication solutions that clients need to achieve their business objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.Medical Communications (55%):Oversee existing medical communications offering, focus in peer-review publications.Lead the team of internal and external Medical Writers working on abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.Contribute to project work through content development and editorial review.Serve as a player/coach who can support, guide, assist in problem resolution/troubleshooting as needed.Mentor and foster development of direct reports through leadership.Provide a vision to the team with regards to offerings and positioning.Advocate for the team internally and externally.Establish annual budget for direct reporting groups, with expenses and chargeability/payroll transfer targets.Thought Leadership (10%):Engage in a variety of marketing activities and represent KJT at industry conferences.Advance the firm’s market position through thought leadership, reflected in books, articles, and conference presentations.Establish requirements for recruitment and professional development.Information Security Management:The person in this role is responsible for being at all times compliant with the KJT Group Information Security Policy and all other policies, processes, and documentation which relates to information security within KJT Group.Requirements:Key Competencies for Success:Excellent written communication, oral communication, and presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal skills, including client management.Supervisory experience.Ability and willingness to travel (~10%).Ability to balance multiple initiatives simultaneously while managing changing priorities in a fast-paced, client service environment.Education/Experience:Advanced life science degree (MD, PharmD, PhD) or master's degree and appropriate experience.10+ years’ professional experience in medical communications role and client service capacity.3+ years of agency-side experience with hands-on experience with client management.2+ years managing 2+ direct staff members.Strong knowledge of Good Publication Practices (GPP 2022).Has been published in a peer-reviewed journal and can provide a portfolio.Knowledge of, and experience with publication planning (agency or client side).Experience in medical writing and scientific communication platform development (conference activity, publications and enhancements, digital engagement platforms, medical education training decks, etc).Proven business development success/relationship management with a focus on engaging new clients. This role is supported by our sales and marketing teams.Incremental preferred expertise:Clinical or scientific communication background and training.Therapeutic experience in obesity, diabetes, rare disease, cardiovascular, oncology.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert proficiency with:Expert proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with Adobe Acrobat Suite of tools.KJT Group is an equal opportunity employer.
