ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN IV
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Building Principal
JOB GOALS:
Promotes the effective use of library/media resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:1. High school diploma or equivalent diploma. Additional education preferred.2. Meets all mandated health requirements.3. Documentation of a clear criminal record.4. Self-directed and able to learn required skills for the position.5. Proficient in the use of the Dewey Decimal System and library research.6. Experience with computer operation and the on-line catalogue system.7. Commitment to keeping current with technological advances.
RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Procuring and maintaining library materials, inventories and equipment.2. Inventories and assists with maintenance of audio-visual equipment.3. Assists student, teachers/staff in using audio-visual and computer equipment and conducting library research.4. Maintains on-line card catalogues, files, reports and records pertinent to the library.5. Maintains the library in order to permit the most efficient use of the area.6. Conducts library skills classes, research skills classes, story hours and other classes as needed.7. Develops displays and bulletin boards.8. Works collaboratively with the building technology staff/personnel.9. Works with the district librarian to implement the district media program.10. Coordinates and supervises library volunteers.11. Provide input into annual library budget.12. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Principal within the general scope of the job description.13. All Classified employees are encouraged to attend up to four (4) in-service or orientation meetings annually on a voluntary basis.
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal according to Board approved evaluation instrument.Rice
