Job Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts and Probation (AOCP) is accepting applications for a full-time District Courtroom Clerk / Official Court Reporter position in Douglas County District Court, 4th Judicial District, with expected travel. Reporting to Judge Mary M. Z. Stevens, this paraprofessional role involves verbatim reporting and transcription of court proceedings, hearings, and conferences.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education may substitute for experience.
- For Court Reporter I : meet qualifications per Nebraska Supreme Court Rules 1-204(A)(2) and 1-204(B) or (C); certification from NCRA or equivalent.
- For Court Reporter II : meet qualifications above and be certified as a CRR or FCRR.
Responsibilities
District Courtroom Clerk : Enter case info in DOCKET, operate electronic recording equipment, log proceedings, maintain court recordings, and assist with courtroom operations. Opportunity for advancement to Court Reporter I with training and certification support.
Court Reporter I and II : Provide realtime court records, transcribe proceedings, review transcripts, operate digital recording equipment, and maintain court records. Competency evaluations may be required.
