Lead Plumbing Designer
in the
Carrollton, TX area .
This candidate must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have exceptional organizational skills. The Designers will utilize company resources to provide residential project cost estimates to the
IES Residential
Plumbing divisions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and creating Plumbing systems that meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The
Lead Plumbing Designer
will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and sustainability of Potable and DWV systems in various buildings and facilities.
Responsibilities: System Design:
Develop comprehensive Plumbing system designs based on project specifications and requirements using Autodesk software. Size and select appropriate Plumbing drainage and supply piping in accordance with applicable plumbing code. Conduct load calculations to determine DWV, Gas and Potable Water loads for residential homes in a variety of geographies Across the continental United States.
Code Compliance:
Ensure that all Plumbing designs comply with local, state, and national building codes and standards. Stay current on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies. Fundamental understanding of the material uses and field applications.
Collaboration:
Work closely with builders, engineers, and other project team members to integrate Plumbing systems seamlessly into overall building designs utilizing AutoCAD and clash detection process. Coordinate with electrical, HVAC, and other relevant disciplines to ensure system integration.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare detailed and accurate technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Create and maintain project documentation, including design calculations and equipment schedules.
Project Management:
Assist in project bidding and execution ensuring timely completion of Plumbing design deliverables. Collaborate with project managers to address design-related issues and provide technical support during construction phases. Basic understanding of plans, specifications, take-offs, and other design elements to identify scope of work to be bid. Perform takeoffs of materials, equipment, and labor using estimating software Prepare project proposals as directed Maintain, monitor, and update bid templates in estimating software as directed

3-5yrs experience Residential Plumbing Design 1+ years as lead or trainer or similar AutoCAD MEP AutoCAD Block creation MS Office Web Products Sharepoint Strong in MS Excel Quick fluid thinker Wants to help build something new with a growing design division and handles process changes/updates with ease How can I help attitude Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Provide full DWV, Gas, Isometric drawings Produce Bill of Materials Assist with AutoCAD Block creation and/or maintenance Review incoming projects and work with field to improve or correct designs Review and maintain municipal code knowledge Assist in logging projects, project templates, and spec updates Provide training and team building to LVL1-2 designers License Required
