Scripps' Network Operations Center in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Lead Studio Engineer. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of computers, IP networks, television studio operations, and post-production processes. The position involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and implementing solutions to technical operations challenges. As a Lead Studio Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our studio and network infrastructure.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

1. Installs, maintains and repairs critical broadcasting components to ensure all systems are functioning at peak efficiency.
2. Troubleshoots and repairs a variety of issues with broadcast and IT equipment.
3. Relies on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to perform efficiently and successfully.
4. Collaborates with technology suppliers regarding set-up, upgrades, enhancements, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
5. Programs/customizes equipment software functionality.
6. Tracks and assists users with equipment issues.
7. When resolving open issues seeks multiple perspectives, gathers more information when necessary, closes or escalates issues, and monitors resolution.
8. Works with the Network Ops leadership team to address operational issues and facilitate decision-making regarding technical matters.
9. Provides input and recommendations to assist in disaster recovery and system planning.
10. Other duties as assigned.
11. Makes recommendations for products and service enhancements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

1. Associate degree or equivalent work experience
2. 1-3 years previous IT experience preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

1. Experience with vendor support relations is highly desirable.
2. Previous television engineering experience is preferred.
3. Experience with live television production.
4. Must have a thorough knowledge of Digital audio/video workflows and distribution.
5. C/Ku band satellite uplink and downlink systems.
