Experience Level: 1-5 years of technical writing and research experience (post-Ph.D.)
Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid) with periodic travel (2-3 times per year) to Phoenix, Arizona or Mountain View, California

As regulatory frameworks for AI-assisted inventions continue to evolve, our clients will need compelling written materials and documentation to secure strong IP protection, navigate regulatory pathways, and bring new therapies to market.
Role Description
We are seeking a Technical Writer with a Ph.D. in Life Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, or Biomedical Engineering). This role is ideal for someone with exceptional scientific writing skills, a strong record of publications, and a passion for communicating complex technical information in the areas of:
- AI-Assisted Drug Discovery
- Pharmaceutical Patents
- Emerging Therapeutic Areas (Oncology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases, Cardiovascular Diseases, etc.)
Working in a hybrid capacity from our Bangalore, India location, you will travel a few times a year to either Phoenix, Arizona or Mountain View, California to collaborate directly with our U.S. team and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and edit scientific documents, white papers, patent-related summaries, and technical briefs.
- Translate complex R&D findings into clear, concise documentation that meets both internal and client needs.
- Conduct in-depth research on emerging drug therapies, AI-driven discovery platforms, and the evolving patent landscape, particularly around AI-assisted inventions.
- Stay current on USPTO regulations (including forthcoming AI-related guidelines) and FDA regulatory pathways relevant to pharmaceutical patents.
- Work alongside patent attorneys, scientific advisors, and external research teams to produce high-quality technical documentation.
- Participate in invention disclosure meetings to understand novel concepts and ensure accuracy in written materials.
- Produce peer-reviewed publications, conference submissions, and thought-leadership pieces on behalf of the firm and its clients.
- Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to create educational materials, webinars, and internal knowledge base content.
- Occasionally interface with biotech startups and research institutions to gather technical details and understand their IP strategy.
- Provide guidance on best practices for documenting scientific discoveries, focusing on clarity, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field).
- 1-5 years of professional writing experience, with a strong portfolio of technical or scientific publications.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI applications in drug discovery and familiarity with pharmaceutical patents or IP processes (legal qualification not required, but strong interest is essential).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear, high-quality documentation and peer-reviewed publications.
- Ability to translate complex scientific concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working in collaborative, cross-functional environments, liaising with attorneys, researchers, and business teams.
- Willingness to travel to the United States (Phoenix, AZ or Mountain View, CA) a few times a year.
