Key job responsibilities:
Hire and develop a team of store designers who are responsible for executing new store and remodel projects.Assign, manage and prioritize the work load of a team of store designers.Review and provide feedback on store designer’s individual projects, ensuring that store designers are translating brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.Manage architects and engineers including tracking fees, managing to consultant fee goals, and awarding projects.Present design project work to leadership.Reviewing and tracking the completion of test fits and feasibility studies to inform real estate decisions.Work with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are on track and accurately reported.Review construction documents, shop drawings and landlord documentation.Participate in strategic initiatives, working cross-functionally to determine the right stakeholders to ensure the best decisions are made for the business.Define priorities and goals that drive team success that meet short term goals and long-term strategy.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in architecture or interior design.7+ years of architecture or retail design experience.3+ years of people management experience.Grocery experience required.Uses expertise and judgment to determine the right stakeholders to inform decisions.Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration.Demonstrated experience with building and health codes, 3D visualization and industry trends.Demonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written and verbal formats.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment.Demonstrated ability to manage simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management and problem solving skills.Proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an 'all hands on deck' approach.Architecture/ Retail Design - Design Development, Construction / Permit Documentation.Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp software, InDesign and Photoshop experience a plus.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferred.
