This is a part-time position with a cap of 20 total teaching hours per week.Position Summary:
This position entails the following category of instruction:Teaching applied songwriting lessons (on an hourly basis);Leading a songwriting/beats lab;Reviewing student portfolios for the Music Education Songwriting and Production program;Potential for teaching in other relevant areas as assigned.Weekly class meetings are taught onsite at the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA) Chicago campus, working with students enrolled in the following degree programs:Bachelor of Music;Bachelor of Music-Music Education.Job Duties:Successful retention of students by means of effective and healthy pedagogy.Clear and timely communications.Timely submission of all grades.Consistent usage of Roosevelt University email address (to be assigned upon onboarding).Reflecting the ideals of its founders in 1945, Roosevelt University is a private, nonsectarian community of educators, scholars, and learners committed to academic, creative, and service excellence, who value differences in personal experiences and perspectives; ask difficult questions; and promote mutual understanding, inclusion, social consciousness, and action toward social justice. Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds). May be exposed to loud noise from instrument and voice practice rooms on-site.
