Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is seeking a UX/UI Design CO-OP - Controls Products in Suwanee, GA for Fall 2025.

Position Summary:

The Mitsubishi Electric Trane US Heating & Cooling company designs and manufactures heat pump systems and controls for the North American market. We are looking for a candidate for our CO-OP program to complete three alternating semesters of full-time work within our Product Management team.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or other human-centered product design programs.
• A college student with at least one year of coursework completed.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week in our Suwanee, GA office, Monday through Friday.
• Work on design, simulation, and testing of air handler controls products.
• Organize and update design system components, graphics, user flows, UI prototypes, and copy text.
• Build a knowledge base to support internal and external user success.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and users to shape the future of HVAC controls and apps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Training may include:

• Design Software (e.g., Figma)
• Development Software Tracking (e.g., Atlassian products)
• Empathy & Journey Mapping
• LEAN UX tools and processes

Ideal Candidate:

• Enjoys a fast-paced environment with diverse challenges.
• Thrives in a hands-on environment involving basic hand tools and electrical components.
• Ability and enthusiasm to present ideas and proposals to design and management teams.
• Strong user-centric design thinking experience.
• Proficient in computer skills such as Figma, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Atlassian tools, hardware, and wireless networks.

Preferred Education/Experience:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, self-directed regarding project goals.
• Interest in applying technical knowledge to business processes.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting pay range is expected to be between $15.38 and $21.15 per hour, with variations based on individual factors. The total compensation may include bonuses, awards, and benefits such as a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holidays, and parental/disability leave.
