The Senior Marketing Designer creates visual concepts, layouts, and copy for print and digital media, including newspapers, magazines, email, websites, and social media. This work includes advertisements, promotions, and other graphics that contribute to the overall look and style of Embarcadero Media Foundation and its nine media properties and their respective brands.About the RoleAs the Senior Marketing Designer, you will deeply understand Embarcadero Media Foundation and its media properties, ensuring adherence to best practices, styles, voice, and brand guidelines - updating and enforcing visual style guides. Your strength is your experience, allowing you to easily collaborate with marketing, other internal teams, and outside vendors. You don’t miss a beat when developing new visual concepts for campaigns and projects while ensuring consistency in branding. You are highly organized and can keep files and projects as such.The day-to-day:The Senior Marketing Designer designs and enables delivery of sales and marketing collateral for Embarcadero Media Foundation’s events, promotions, campaigns, and advertisements including but not limited to:Print adsSocial mediaNewslettersEmailWebsiteOther items such as posters, stationery, banners, signage, stickers, race bibs, t-shirts, business cards, and more.- Designs the look and format of Mailchimp emails including sales e-blasts and is the initial go-to person for troubleshooting problems.- Works with the Director of Marketing and Audiences to build and traffic all website campaign scheduling.- Writes expert copy for e-blasts and other marketing collateral including print.- Available for all ad-hoc projects.- Uses design software and tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), Mailchimp, and works within the Google Suite.- Holds design ownership of all brand logos.- Collaborates with IT for the execution of marketing plans.DescriptionFalls within the Marketing department.Reports to the Director of Marketing and Audiences.Part-time: 29 hours per week.Flexible work location: remote, hybrid, or on-site.Non-union position.Hourly, non-benefited.Hourly pay range: $25-$28, depending on experience.About Embarcadero Media FoundationWe believe in the vital importance of local news as a cornerstone of a healthy democracy.
