Budget Title: Assistant Facilities Program Coordinator (SL-3)
Salary: $60,000 - $75,000
Binghamton University is searching for a Site Designer to work closely with our Licensed Landscape Architect and Site/Civil Designer to assist with planning, design, and construction administration of projects on the main and satellite campuses. The candidate will work with campus community members, under the supervision of a Landscape Architect, to establish project scopes, develop concept designs that reflect established budgets, refine designs into biddable construction drawings, and monitor construction.
The Site Designer will also be responsible for assisting in the evaluation and establishment of campus standards for planning, design and methods of project delivery. Other responsibilities include: understanding the history of campus development as well as objectives of the current master plan; assist campus community members (Colleges, Departments, etc.) in determining the needs for new site work projects; coordinate and determine feasibility or conceptualization of such projects; develop project scopes and schedules; determine, compile and reconcile project budgets with input from all pertinent parties; design landscapes and site plans; conduct field inspections and provide supervision to monitor the quality of site construction and landscape improvements; consult with and advise supervisory personnel or Grounds Maintenance Crews on landscape improvements and maintenance projects; assist in the preparation of the scope of design services required for each project; attend planning meetings as the campus site representative on assigned projects.
Job Requirements:

Associates degree in a Site Design related program or field
Minimum of one year experience working as a Site Designer in capital project design, or related field
AutoCAD and/or Auto CAD Civil 3D and/or Revit proficiency
Technical knowledge of design and construction industries
Ability to comprehend construction drawings and specifications
MS Word and Excel proficiency
Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related program or field
Three or more years' experience working on institutional/college campus related projects
Extensive Horticulture knowledge of plants appropriate to upstate New York climate
Ability to create full construction drawing packages using AutoCAD without the need for drafting support from others
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational skills; estimating and project scheduling software experience; specification writing experience; experience creating accurate and complete cost estimates for site work projects
Experience working with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Storm Water Management requirements and inspection procedures
Experience creating 3D Models using a range of modeling programs
