Director of Public Relations
develops messaging and initiatives across all communications channels to raise awareness of ACEP’s impact and successes, positioning ACEP as a champion for emergency physicians and their patients. This role advances the organization’s communication priorities through identifying opportunities for growth, proactively reacting to news and updates, and fostering relationships with external partners.Applicants should have exceptional writing and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and experience managing and setting priorities for a team of staff.Our ideal candidate has…A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or related field.Minimum of 8 years; experience managing public relations campaigns with an emphasis on media relations.Proven ability to lead rapid response efforts, including being available during off hours to direct crisis communications as needed.Other desired qualifications include familiarity with issues related to healthcare or emergency medicine, prior experience working with a member association, ability to communicate complex political/legal jargon into layperson’s language, brand management experience, and a master’s degree in a related field.
