About God's Pantry Food Bank
In Central and Eastern Kentucky 1 in 5 people are unsure when they will have their next meal. God's Pantry Food Bank empowers more than 500 food pantries and meal programs throughout 50 counties in Central and Eastern. Last fiscal year, we distributed enough food to create nearly 39 million meals. Our mission is to feed hungry people and reduce food insecurity, and our marketing and communications team helps amplify that mission through storytelling, outreach, and engagement.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented
Marketing and Communications Intern
to join our team for Summer 2025. This is a 10-12 week, unpaid internship offering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, while helping make a real impact in our community.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting social media content creation and scheduling Writing and editing blog posts, newsletters, and press releases Promoting food drives, events, and community initiatives Assisting with internal and external communications Updating website content and tracking performance metrics Conducting basic research and compiling reports Assisting with media outreach and public relations efforts Providing general administrative support to the Marketing team Qualifications
Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student studying Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite a plus Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team A strong interest in nonprofit work and hunger relief is a plus What You'll Gain
