Matthews International is now hiring an Embroidery and Graphic Designer for our Erlanger, KY Service Center.
Matthews International is a worldwide leader in casket manufacturing, providing high-quality wood, metal, and cremation caskets, as well as urns and other products to funeral homes.
The Embroidery and Graphic Designer at Matthews International is responsible for programming and operating specialized equipment to personalize caskets with precision and care. This includes programming Large Format Color Printing machines and embroidery machines for interior panel customization.
No prior embroidery experience or graphic design skills are required, as detailed training will be provided. This role combines technical skills and creativity to deliver high-quality, meaningful products that meet customer specifications and uphold our reputation for excellence.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm.
Weekly Hours: 40 hours a week.
Starting Pay: $19.50 hourly starting pay rate.

Job Responsibilities
- Work on computer using several software programs including Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office suite, SAP. Training will be provided.
- Collaborate with Design, Sourcing, and Production on apparel development to create cost-effective styles.
- Make necessary adjustments to patterns based on feedback.
- Edit and develop patterns based on design specifications and technical sketches.
- Enter and follow through on all custom orders from entry to delivery to customers.
- Operate embroidery machines to create customized memorial panels for casket interiors.
- Work with fabrics, automated embroidery machines, staple gun, glue gun, and cardboard mounts.
- Responsible for cutting excess trim from cardboard mounts to the required size.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Previous experience with mechanical computerized embroidery machines or the ability to be trained.
- Proficiency in computer software such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office suite, SAP, and embroidery design software. Training will be provided.
- Creative mindset for making design decisions and recommendations.
- Strong customer service skills, with daily communication with customers.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and see.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
• The noise level may be high in the work environment.
