To oversee the lifecycle of video production at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, supporting institutional messaging through excellent video content. This role exists to manage production logistics, lead team members, and maintain video systems while advancing the seminary’s Great Commission mission.
JOB TITLE: Video Production Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations - Media Services
SUPERVISOR: Daniel Evans
PAY RATE: Full Time - Regular
HOURS: 39hrs/week
I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB (What are the end results or objectives of this position? Why does the job exist?)
To oversee the lifecycle of video production at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, supporting institutional messaging through excellent video content. This role exists to manage production logistics, lead team members, and maintain video systems while advancing the seminary’s Great Commission mission.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (What duties are required for the position to exist? Estimate the percentage of time spent in each.)
- Coordinate the full video production process including scheduling, planning, filming, editing, and delivery
- Manage and train student workers, part-time videographers, and freelance editors
- Maintain production calendars and delegate tasks using project management tools such as Asana
- Clearly communicate project goals between departments, contractors, and faculty
- Oversee and maintain video production gear including cameras, switchers, and studio equipment
- Manage and troubleshoot the ProMAX NAS-based video editing infrastructure
- Assist with live event productions including chapel services and conferences as needed
- Support post-production workflows and final delivery using Adobe Creative Cloud, Vimeo, and YouTube
- Provide creative input while aligning with the seminary’s tone and messaging
- Contribute ideas for improving video workflows and production efficiency
- Offer critical thinking to provide efficient solutions to logistical and technical challenges
- Represent the department in collaborative planning meetings when needed
- Supervises part-time Video Production Artists, student workers, and freelance editors.
- Has authority to make hiring and performance recommendations and oversees training and task assignments.
Required
- Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated organizational and team management experience
- Working knowledge of video production equipment (camera, lighting, audio)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Personal alignment with the mission and values of Southeastern Seminary
- Experience with Blackmagic Design equipment (e.g., ATEM switchers, studio cameras)
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and standard video post-production workflows
- Adobe After Effects familiarity
- Familiarity with NAS-based systems and collaborative editing environments
- Experience with Asana or similar project management software
- Live event or streaming production experience
- Degree or equivalent experience in media, business, communication, or related field

VII. EXTENT OF PUBLIC CONTACT (Within and outside the University)
- Frequent contact with SEBTS faculty and staff in the context of video projects.
- Occasional interaction with external vendors.
- No contact with public media or press.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to walk for extended periods and work on ladders as needed.
- General physical ability to handle gear and equipment during production.
Work is based on-site at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Typical hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some evening and weekend hours required for events such as concerts and conferences.
