The Metro district’s Communications and Engagement Director works collaboratively with senior leadership to develop and implement communication strategies and oversees media and community relations, brand management, graphics, crisis communications, education and outreach, organizational messaging, and constituent services. This position is located at our district headquarters in Roseville, MN. The incumbent will have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid of in office and teleworking. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor.Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional supervisory experience (supervising professional employees) in communications, public affairs, and/or media relations
OR
four years of professional experience in communications, public affairs, and/or media relations.Experience creating and executing strategic communication plans and/or public relations plans.Experience utilizing a range of communication channels such as written communication, websites, social media, multimedia, outreach, and/or in-person events.Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or another related field.Experience with work planning and budgeting sufficient to effectively manage the unit’s work.Experience with communications in a government setting.Additional Requirements
