Description
Mohave College is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Temporary Part-Time Graphic Designer to assist with the development and production of college publications and marketing materials. This position works reports to the Office of College Communications Brand Design and Project Manager to produce high-quality materials that reflect the college's brand and meet marketing objectives. This position will collaborate on projects to ensure accuracy, consistency and effectiveness across all platforms, including print and online.
Typical Duties
- Publication Production
- Collaborate with supervisor to develop and coordinate college publications.
- Utilize advanced technical knowledge to create visually appealing, timely, and industry-standard publications that meet intended purposes.
- Efficiency and Procedure Improvements
- Follow College processes and supervisor guidance to help increase efficiency, and support the conservation of college resources.
- Brand Consistency
- Ensure consistency between printed and online publications by working closely with the supervisor and the college's website content administrator.
- Ensure all printed materials are accessible and available online.
- Content Management
- Monitor and evaluate the appropriateness of content in college publications to support the college's short- and long-term image.
- Coordinate with departments to determine design needs and publication goals.
- Graphic Design Support
- Provide expert design and printing advice to college departments in consultation with the supervisor.
- Participate in the conceptualization and development of publications, such as flyers, brochures and recruitment and promotional materials.
- Project Management
- Assist supervisor in setting production schedules and ensuring quality and timely completion of all design projects.
- Monitor and track multiple projects simultaneously.
- Compliance and Guidelines
- Ensure adherence to college administrative procedures, guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance with all policies and guidance affecting college operations.
- Confidentiality and Records Management
- Maintain security of confidential information and records according to established rules and regulations.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two (4) years of professional experience in graphic design and production.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Experience with Canva.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, including typography, color theory and composition.
- Familiarity with best practices in digital and print media production.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Work Conditions and Schedule:
- Temporary, part-time position.
- Hours may vary depending on project workload.
- Some remote work may be available based on department needs.
