The Camden Carroll Library at Morehead State University is accepting applications for a full-time position as a Library Technician (Library Services). The anticipated start date is July 1, 2025.

Responsibilities
The Library Technician (Library Services) plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of Morehead State University’s Camden-Carroll Library. This position involves staffing the circulation desk, managing library materials, assisting patrons with basic research inquiries, and maintaining an organized and clean library environment. The ideal candidate is outgoing, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
Library or customer service experience is a plus. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds. Comfort with computers, library systems, and office equipment is essential, as are excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. This role involves standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials in a dynamic library setting with frequent patron interaction.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required. Requires substantial use of a PC. Flexibility scheduling to meet unit needs is required and may include mornings, nights, and/or weekend hours. Work may require mobility and moderate lifting of items such as books, boxes, or computer equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of library experience with the ability to assist library users in locating information from a variety of sources, both print and electronic, and with trouble-shooting problems relating to technology preferred.

Organizational Relationships
This position works under the supervision of the User Services Librarian. Works as a team member in the unit, and interacts with staff, students, faculty, vendors, and the general public.
Physical Requirements
Ability to handle library materials, laptops, cameras, books, CDs, DVDs, and Teach Aids. Ability to open safe and work with cash and credit card machines. Ability to answer the telephone to assist patrons. Ability to make announcements over the loudspeaker system.
Working Conditions
Ability to work under stress in a front desk area.
