Tasks to include:
Required Qualifications
Vocational/Educational Requirement: Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate's degree in digital communications, digital video or a closely related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standards, this class requires a minimum of two years of related, full-time equivalent experience.
Special Certifications and Licenses: Requires a valid driver's license and a driving record that is in compliance with City Driving Standards . Required certification/training in the use of Adobe video editing software.
Special Requirements:Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
Tasks to include:
- Captures video and audio footage, using a variety of equipment, software, techniques and tools.
- Edits video footage, self-captured and stock, together with graphics and other elements, into completed digital products for use online and/or via television.
- Develops and creates still and motion graphics for various uses.
- Works with departmental and City staff to determine interview topics, conduct interviews, and prepare appropriate visuals for message development.
- Creates training and related internal communication videos, including working with staff inside and outside department.
- Supports Chesapeake Television studio and remote productions, as needed, by operating cameras, working in control room, and pre- and post-production logistics.
- Maintains equipment and troubleshoots problems to determine solutions.
- Performs related tasks as necessary such as driving to sites for fieldwork and operating character generator.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
