Local News Multimedia Journalist (MMJ)

40/29, the ABC affiliate in Rogers, AR, is seeking a Multimedia Journalist capable of identifying compelling story ideas, shooting, editing video news packages, and presenting them engagingly. The Multimedia Journalist should be motivated, passionate about storytelling, and prepared to deliver news live. The reporter will report to the News Director.

Responsibilities

1. Gather information for stories and live reports for newscasts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
2. Cover breaking news, weather, and sports events.
3. Create high-quality news packages.
4. Collaborate with reporters on packages, special reports, and documentaries.
5. Develop sources, generate story ideas, and produce content across all platforms—on-air, online, and digital.
6. Shoot live shots, conduct live interviews, and track news stories.

Requirements

• Experience or education in television news reporting, photography, and editing.
• Creative writing and editing skills.
• Ability to connect with viewers authentically.
• Provide samples of reporting and photography.
• Experience in developing local contacts.
• Proficiency in shooting and editing high-quality videos.
• Ability to handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production.
• Related military experience will be considered.
• In-person attendance is required.
