Position Summary:

St. Egbert Catholic School is seeking a Music Teacher for Grades PreK-5. This individual should have a strong understanding of the role of music in Catholic liturgy, be dedicated to best practices in teaching and learning, and be a passionate educator who upholds the school's mission through music instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Integrate values and attitudes that guide students in evaluating and applying content in the light of Gospel teachings.
2. Effectively implement a grade-level appropriate curriculum and demonstrate mastery of subject-area content.
3. Adhere to the standards and objectives from the Diocese of Raleigh curricula and design rigorous instructional plans that include higher order thinking skills and acquisition of deeper content knowledge.
4. Exhibit a strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement and maintain high expectations for student learning.
5. Cultivate ongoing communication and positive relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
6. Contribute to a positive Catholic school culture driven by continuous professional and spiritual growth, striving for academic excellence.
7. Collaborate with musicians and church staff with regard to music for school liturgy.
8. Supervision and other duties as assigned by administration.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in music.
2. 3 or more years of teaching experience.
3. Hold a current K-6 North Carolina Teaching License or equivalent out-of-state license.
4. Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
5. Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
