General overview of responsibilities:
- Teach assigned sections of Photography and Design
- Write formal comments on students four times per year and informal progress reports four times per year
- Meet with parents, as needed
- Maintain a Professional Growth Plan in consultation with the department chair
- Participate in co-curricular athletics or performing arts, or the equivalent, in the school's co-curricular points system
- Serve as an advisor or co-advisor to a small group of students
- Serve on committees and task forces, as needed
Required characteristics and/or skills of this position:
- Supports and acts in accordance with LFA's mission and values

- Demonstrates appropriate planning and preparation for instruction
- Develops and maintains a classroom atmosphere that inspires learning and fosters respect for all students
- Supports departmental goals and colleagues
- Eagerness to be fully involved in a boarding school community
Preferred experience and/or education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience teaching a broad range of arts courses, including photography
- Experience with Adobe InDesign and/or Illustrator preferred
Compensation/Benefits:
Full-time benefit eligibility is available for workloads 75%-100%, depending on the number of courses taught and additional responsibilities. Teachers with a workload between 50-75% are eligible for part-time benefits, including LFA's 403(b) Retirement Plan.
Lake Forest Academy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes full medical and dental coverage, 403(b) retirement plan, and other benefits. Final salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the final appointed candidate based on the school's salary scale.
