What you will do in this role
- Apply appropriate therapeutic theories and standards in practice.
- Assess patient needs considering cultural, religious, and physical disabilities, and determine appropriate activities and groupings.
- Document patient responses to interventions and progress regularly.
- Complete assessments within designated timeframes, balancing workload among therapists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy (CTRS), Music Therapy (MT-BC), Art Therapy (ATR, ATR-BC, ATR-P, LPAT), or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting, especially with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, or geriatric patients, is preferred.
- Current unencumbered certification/license/registration as per state guidelines.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire; flexible hours, including holidays and overtime, may be required.
