The Content Strategy division tells the story of New York City’s parks. It produces written and visual content that enhances the experience of park users, and manages the Agency’s website, social media channels, and email newsletters.
Major Responsibilities
- Under direction of the Communications Division and the Director of Content Strategy, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, create content to delight and inform an audience.
- Produce original digital content for web, newsletter, and social media channels to support Agency goals and objectives.
- In collaboration with the Video Producer, organize, develop, and edit video resources for use in public-facing content and internal communications.
- Interface with partners inside and outside the Agency to manage the Agency event calendar.
- As projects require, work with the Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Public Affairs, additional Parks divisions, partner groups and other city agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
- High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with photo or video editing software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite of software.
- Experience producing content for social media channels.
- Experience with HTML and producing web content.
- Experience with public communication.
- Ability to work with a team as well as independently.
Residency Requirement
Residency in New York City, Nassau, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Putnam or Westchester counties required for employees with over two years of city service. New York City residency required within 90 days of hire for all other candidates.
