About the Role
Nationwide User Experience (UX) is seeking a talented designer who is equally adept in interaction design and visual design to join the Property & Casualty design team.
The role will be responsible for ideation and execution across a wide range of projects and platforms. Candidates should have a good understanding of the human-centered design process, UX best practices, and the possibilities and limitations of technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, technologists, UX peers, and others to provide strategic, creative, and technical direction.
- Advocate for empathetic, human-centered design, using insights and understanding of users to mitigate risk.
- Problem solve, influence, and explore divergent ideas while converging towards optimal solutions.
- Design and recommend innovative multi-platform solutions balancing customer needs, business viability, and technical feasibility.
- Participate in and facilitate idea-generating sessions, evaluating ideas for technical feasibility, business viability, and human desirability.
- Think strategically, connecting work to the larger picture and considering the end-to-end experience.
- Mentor and guide team members to uplift the quality of work.
- Stay aware of rapid technological advancements and customer interaction expectations.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate studies in UX, human-computer interaction, psychology, graphic design, information science, communications, or related fields.
- Typically, five or more years of professional experience in human-centered design.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with public speaking and explaining design rationale.
- Solid understanding of UX principles, human-centered design, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects independently.
- Leadership skills to mentor less experienced team members.

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.
