Beacon Media Group is seeking to recruit a Senior Journalist on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for researching, developing, and writing news content, investigative articles, feature stories, and analytical pieces, as well as for reporting both in Malta and abroad for Newsbook Malta and RTK 103. S/he is expected to be creative, take initiative, produce and present content professionally in line with ethical standards of journalism.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A tertiary level qualification at MQF level 6 preferably in communications, media studies, journalism, or a similar relevant field.
2. A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in the field.
3. A portfolio of published stories/articles.
4. Experience in digital media and basic IT proficiency.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills (both in Maltese and English), as well as research skills.
6. Excellent presentation and interviewing skills.
7. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
8. The ability to organise and deliver work within timelines.
9. Willingness to travel abroad and execute timely news coverage.
10. Knowledge in Catholic Social Teaching and particular interest in any of the following will be considered an asset: the environment, migration, political science, international affairs, health issues, and economics.
