Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services.

About the role
This position has 24-hour responsibility for the department. The Coordinator of Marketing and Public Relations organizes and directs the institution’s community relations efforts to develop public interest, understanding, and a positive image in accordance with the policies of the institution and consistent with administrative guidelines. The individual will respond to media and agency requests for information and coordinate the public relations program.
Qualifications
- Three to five years’ experience preferred in marketing, public relations or health care consulting with an interest in the health care field.
- An undergraduate degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism or other related field required.
- Demonstrated ability in writing, editing, publication design, public presentation, photography, and computer literacy.
- Ability to cooperate and effectively work with hospital personnel, healthcare professionals outside the hospital, media representatives, business vendors, consultants, and community leaders.
- Knowledge of healthcare public relations and marketing required.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel or other foundation-specific software which will maintain foundation donor lists, prepare merged documents for mailing, financials for the corporation, and compute tax consequences and/or benefits for potential donors.
- Prepare informative, attractive newsletters, brochures, and other publications.
- Assist with all aspects of event planning and preparation of the activities and events.
- Must have professional appearance, attitude, and behavior.
- Ability to maintain confidential communications.
