Great career opportunity with highly respected 30+ year and growing employee-owned EPC for an Engineering Project Manager at its Orland Park, IL office. Ideal candidate will be someone with good leadership skills who is looking take the next step in their career from a project engineer, design engineer, or Industrial Architect type position with a PE License or Registered Architect License and who has related Engineering or Project Engineering experience with Commercial, Industrial, Office buildings HVAC, Power Distribution and building electrical systems, MEP related systems, or building structures and foundations. Company seeks an experienced Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Structural or similar discipline engineer to complement their existing team. Companys portfolio of projects and clients are in Commercial & Industrial Building Engineering and Construction, Renewable Energy & Power, and Environmental projects. Projects include but not limited to CNG Commercial Vehicle Fleet Fueling Stations, RNG Biogas process plants, Landfill Gas projects, Environmental Brownfield Developments, Water/Wastewater treatment facilities, oil and gas projects, other process piping type projects, Food & Beverage Processing, or chemical process production projects. Ideal candidates will have related experience and can do up to 25% overnight travel. Commercial / Industrial construction is a plus. Responsibilities:
Assume leadership role in Client/project relations, including developing initial and ongoing Client design.
Take the lead role in developing conceptual and schematic design, design basis memoranda and assign appropriate design delivery team.
Assure regional design staff is complying with company design standards and control systems.
Mentor staff to promote individual development, departmental growth, and staff succession.
Familiarity with variety of projects including industrial, waste handling, recycling, resource recovery, environmental remediation, and food and beverage facilities
from concept through construction.
Develop conceptual designs for new industrial facilities.
Effectively manage multi-discipline design
Ability to lead owner communication and client management.
Coordinate and lead a design team with sub-consultants of various disciplines
Respond to contractor RFIs and submittals
Develop and manage project schedules
Assist in developing project cost estimates and proposals
Maintain project documentation
Lead project design meetings
Travel to client or project sites
up to 25%
Qualifications:
7+ years related experience in Project Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Architect or Engineer in leadership role with experience in Industrial / Commercial buildings
Building / Facility HVAC, Power Distribution systems, or building structure and foundations design
Experience with Industrial / Commercial, Hospital, Institutional, or related type facilities
Project experience with large-engineered metal buildings, multi-storied buildings, foundations, distribution centers, warehouses, office buildings, and manufacturing type facilities.
Client interface experience
Solid user skills and experience preferred with MS Project, Procore inputting data, milestones, deliverables, tasks, schedule, creating reports, etc.
Strong cost, time, and project scope experience
Construction experience is a plus
Ability to manage concurrent projects in difference states
Average over-night travel is six (6) days per month but can increase during equipment commissioning, commissioning phases
Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and grasp of what needs to be communicated to whom and when).
Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Structural or related 4-year Engineering Degree preferred
Must be authorized to work in the US now and experience must be US based
7 years engineering experience with engineering design and engineering team management.
Professional Engineering license (PE), or Licensed Architect
Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
Proven ability to lead teams and solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
